What is the program?

This program gives you the technical knowledge to be on the front line of defense in protecting computer operating systems, networks and data from cyber-attacks.

What will I learn?

You’ll learn the technical skills to design, implement and secure computer networks. You’ll understand how to detect risks, threats and vulnerabilities. You’ll get experience in installing security software, monitoring networks for security breaches, responding to cyber-attacks and gathering the data and evidence needed to prosecute cyber-crime. You’ll build a foundation in security software technologies, programming languages and networking while developing your problem-solving and communication skills.

What can I do with this course of study?

This program will prepare you for entry-level positions in information technology including a variety of analyst, specialist, and technician job titles. You’ll also be ready to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree, which will expand your qualifications and opportunities in the field. Your associate degree is the equivalent of the first two years of a four-year degree.
